There it is: fried chicken in a cone.

Do you like chicken? (Most of you do.)

Do you like waffles? (Again, most of you do.)

Do you like chicken and waffles? (I've heard this is a thing somewhere.)

Well, here is Chick'nCone—one word—which turns the brunch favorite into a waffle-cone experience. It recently soft-opened at 1919 N. Shepherd Dr. in the Heights and will host its grand opening from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday with menu and drink specials, free ice cream for children, and zydeco music.

Chick'nCone is a New York City-based chain that specializes in fried chicken nuggets tossed in sauces: cinnamon-maple, traditional sweet BBQ, mustard-based BBQ, mild-spicy ranch, spicy buffalo with blue cheese, and spicy peri peri. The chicken is thrown into a waffle cone and served either solo or with fries and a drink.

The brand comes into a now relatively crowded foodie scene on North Shepherd that also includes recently opened (and somewhat similar) The Waffle Bus, the newly opened Burger Joint, and the soon-to-open Mico's Hot Chicken (among others). And that isn't all for Chick'nCone, as it has plans to add a location at 2805 White Oak Dr. in the Heights. Opening date for that location is to be announced.
