Houston Restaurant Weeks founder Cleverley Stone, who died May 28 at age 68.

The show will most definitely go on in 2020.

Houston Restaurant Weeks is scheduled to take place Aug. 1 to Sept. 7, with participating restaurants across the city offering multi-course prix-fixe brunch, lunch, and dinners. While details concerning the presence of take-out- and delivery-only restaurants in the event are being discussed, a spokesperson for Restaurant Weeks says those options "should be and will be considered."

This year's event won't just be different because it's taking place during the COVID-19 pandemic. It'll also be the first Restaurant Weeks without its founder, as media personality Cleverley Stone died on May 28.

In her place, daughter Katie Stone will take over as the face of the event.

"This has been a very difficult time dealing with the grief of my mother’s passing and at the same time wanting to take up her baton," she said in a release. "I have been overwhelmed by the support I have received and words of encouragement to keep HRW alive. I am pressing forward and looking toward a successful month-long event."

The list of participating restaurants and establishments will be unveiled in July and will be constantly updated through Aug. 1.
