We have a date for the Houston opening of anticipated Michelin Star restaurant Le Jardinier, and it's May 18.

Led by culinary director Alain Verzeroli and executive pastry chef Salvatore Martone, Le Jardinier opened in summer 2019 in New York and won a Michelin Star last year.

As part of The Bastion Collection—which also operates La Table in Uptown Houston—the restaurant announced a location in the Bayou City, specifically at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, in early January.

"At Le Jardinier, we operate in harmony with the rhythms of nature to artfully craft dishes inspired by seasonal vegetables and rich nutrients," said Verzeroli in a press release. "As we've been preparing to open in Houston, I've spent a lot of time learning about what Houstonians crave and developing a menu that incorporates the unique terroir of the city."

Positioned on the west side of the Kinder Building at MFAH, Le Jardinier has floor-to-ceiling windows and a commissioned tapestry by Trenton Doyle Hancock called Color Flash for Chat and Chew, Paris Texas in Seventy-Two in the dining room. Find 70 seats in the main dining room and an additional 30 on the patio.

Its menu will include seasonal produce and herbs, and local seafood and meat. Dishes include ora king salmon with courgettes and lemongrass emulsion, and grilled bavette au jus with broccolini and eggplant mousse. Dessert will include, among other dishes, Martone's homemade vegan ice cream.

Le Jardinier will be open from 5–10 p.m. Tuesday to Sunday. Its sister concept, the Italian eatery Cafe Leonelli, opened this month at MFAH. For more information, including a reservation link, visit the Le Jardinier website.
