One of America's top restaurants for Persian cuisine is making its Houston debut in fall 2022.

Rumi's Kitchen, with locations in the Atlanta area and in Washington, D.C. and celebrated for contemporary twists on the food of Iran, will open at Post Oak Place at 1801 Post Oak Blvd. in Uptown Houston.

The luxury, 112,000-square-foot development that stars Zadok Jewelers and is designed by Michael Hsu Office of Architecture will also be home to Uchiko, the upscale concept from Hai Hospitality (the folks behind Uchi). The addition of Rumi's Kitchen will undoubtedly make Post Oak Place a hotspot for Houston diners.

"As one of the first upscale Persian restaurants to join Houston’s culinary scene, Rumi’s Kitchen represents an exciting addition to our robust and dynamic roster of tenants at Post Oak Place," said Zadok Jewelers Principal Jonathan Zadok, in a press release. "By the growing mix of international restaurants that are helping to usher in a new chapter for the Uptown District following recent improvements to the area, Post Oak Boulevard continues to blossom into a compelling and exciting destination for both locals and tourists alike to visit, dine, shop, and explore."

Rumi's Kitchen, owned by chef Ali Mesghali and Stephen Kaplan, specializes in large family-style plates like lamb rack with lentil and raisin basmati, duck fesenjoon with pomegranate and walnut stew, and soltani kabob. The use of saffron is instrumental throughout the menu. The restaurant also boasts a competitive wine list with selections from the Middle East.

Uchiko is slated to open later in 2021.
