Get down with the meats, sides, and goodies of Feges BBQ.

The wait is over: Patrick Feges and Erin Smith will open their second location of Feges BBQ on Sunday at 8217 Long Point Rd. in Spring Branch.

This marks a major moment in the couple's evolution. The original Feges, still open in Greenway Plaza's food court, is a great lunch spot but only functions as such because of its location. The new—and let's emphasize this—restaurant will allow Feges and Smith to spread their wings. It'll offer counter-service lunch and dinner and add comfort-food favorites, plus more adventurous sides, to an already stalwart Central Texas barbecue menu of brisket, sausage, pork ribs, pulled pork, burnt ends, whole hog, and plenty more.

For instance, you'll find entrées like smoked meatloaf, Southern fried chicken, bulgogi beef rib, and oxtail ragu tagliatelle along with a burger, sandwiches (fried chicken, smoked chicken, loaded baked potato), salads (charred Caesar, green goddess), and starters like smoked chicken wings and cracklin' nachos.

And the sides in Spring Branch include chana masala, hog fat cornbread, and Korean braised greens along with longtime favorites like Moroccan spiced carrots and sweet potato and banana mashers.

The new Feges BBQ will also serve local beer (Saint Arnold, Eureka Heights, No Label) and include a wine list curated by Smith—a former Camerata sommelier—and somm Christopher Poldoian. The list includes funkier bottles, along with selections from Burgundy, Italy, and California.

The Collaborative Projects-designed space is 5,000 square feet with a 1,880-square-foot patio. A smoke room will showcase the restaurant's two J&R Manufacturing Oylers. Custom art by Laura Goodson gives the place plenty of Texan and Americana flavor. A kids' play area and menu will make Feges BBQ a very family experience.

Feges BBQ will be open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday to Saturday and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
