It's that time again where Houston’s brutal summer comes to an arguably celebrated close, and fall talk starts to emerge. Starbucks Pumpkin Spiced Latte is typically a seasonal marker, but for Houstonians, it could very well still be 90 degrees outside, leaving us to find shelter from the sweltering August heat.
At La Colombe d’Or’s Tonight & Tomorrow and Bar No. 3, Chef Jonathan Wicks (Intercontinental Hotel & Resorts, Hotel Zaza) and Food & Beverage Director, Chris Fleischman (Riel, Poitin Bar+Kitchen), understand that feeling all too well.
To beat the end-of-summer heat, the duo has unveiled a Late Summer menu at both concepts. The menu incorporates some of the freshest seasonal harvests. Located inside the Montrose Historic Mansion, La Colombe d'Or is the luxury boutique hotel serving modern European cuisine with Southern influences throughout their breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner.
The boutique landmark also headlines their sumptuous adult beverages at Bar No. 3. Crafting unique cocktails with names that are just as fitting, like the Rajasthan Royale; made of vodka, passion fruit, amaretto, and sparkling wine garnished with a floral ornament or the Excelsior, crafted with cold brew coffee, cognac, liquor 43, and cardamom bitters.
The decor is a combination of character from the Montrose neighborhood it’s located in but built into a detailed mansion. There is a plethora of indoor seating with a cozy fireplace accessible from both the bar and the mansion’s front porch’s al fresco seating.
Reservations for both the Tonight & Tomorrow restaurant and Bar No.3 are required. La Colombe d'Or, 3410 Montrose Boulevard.
