Having a glass of wine might just save a puppy.

Throughout the month of August, Mutiny Wine Room will celebrate St. Roch Day, on August 16, by hosting a month-long fundraiser for Pup Squad Animal Rescue – the non-profit created to help rescue and re-home orphaned puppies.

According to their Facebook Page, pup squad's sole purpose is saving our furry friends and nursing litters in the Houston area from life on the streets before they enter the shelters.

Throughout the month of August, Mutiny will donate $1 for every glass of wine and $5 for every bottle sold to help support the local organization. However, on Sunday, August 15, Mutiny will host an all-day celebration for the Patron Saint of Dogs by offering 10% off all bottles for on-premise consumption.

Mutiny will donate $1 for every glass of wine and $5 for every bottle sold to help support PupSquad.

Mutiny prides itself on curating a "diverse yet manageable" 50 - 60 bottle list focusing on boutique and small-batch wineries that produce between 500 to 5,000 cases. The wine list features selections from Pinot Noirs to Chardonnay, and the wine shop recently unveiled its latest producer showcase, Cochon Wines, which specializes in Rhone, Burgundian and Alsatian varietals.

Mutiny Wine Room has a diverse selection of wines.

The Mutiny experience includes expert guidance by on-site wine stewards, who give guests the opportunity to taste and purchase a curated selection of wines that are not sold in Texas.

Mutiny Wine Room is located at 1124 Usener St.
