We’re entering summer so, a gorgeous beachfront getaway is all we dream about. This week, we’ve traveled 30 miles outside Houston to find a 20-acre estate on Galveston Bay. This gated waterfront property’s amenities include two piers with long walkways that lead to observation decks in the bay, an outdoor tennis and basketball court, and a connected guest house. Come with us to get an inside look at this coastal residence.
The Galveston Bay frontage’s main house was built in 1916, but don’t let the year fool you. The home is in the lap of luxury throughout — the drive to the home is shaded by palm and oak trees leading to the entrance.
Being a stone’s throw from the water — literally — a portion of the main house is supported by concrete beams for shaded views of Galveston Bay.
The property is just a few square feet shy of 21 acres, and one thing that the beach house doesn’t lack is space. The bricked patio introduces you to the massive greenery surrounding the property.
If that’s not enough, the residence is complete with a four-car garage and additional storage space to house your boats.
The main house is 3,744 square feet and is complete with five bedrooms and six and a half baths. To up the ante, each bedroom is outfitted with its own bathroom, which is excellent for those family trips.
The primary bedroom overlooks the bay, and its white walls complement the water, making for a relaxing wind-down.
The tranquility extends to the bathroom, where the white-washed walls are accompanied by marble tile around the tub and walk-in shower.
Where the rest of the family sleeps won’t be a question either. Two bedrooms can fit up to three twin beds, so large families can stay under one roof.
The beachfront view extends to the inside of the home, where most of the house has floor-to-ceiling windows and doors, and no matter where you are inside, you’re provided with a view.
There won’t be a shortage of family time inside the home either. It is equipped with multiple rooms to lounge in, and a day of outdoor fun can end on a good note with a game night.
The home’s true beauty can be seen at night — from one of the two piers attached to the property. Adorned with soft white lights around the property, the home has a whole new look at dusk.
If being near the Galveston waters doesn’t excite you, the backyard surely will. Entertainment on the property includes a built-in pool and spa, plus a tennis and basketball court.
The backyard pool is complete with two cabanas and a connected guest house. The pool perimeter is filled with space for lounging, which is perfect for an outdoor barbecue party.
