When it comes to a hectic workweek, making it to Friday as a Houstonian means a weekend of wanderlust because we do indeed live in an eventual town. With so much going on, you can pack your weekend with foodie events that’ll leave you satisfied such as Beats & Eats in Midtown Park, the La Crema Winery experience or Turkey Leg Hut’s second annual block party and festival.

For the artsy enthusiast, the Bayou City Arts Festival is the place to be all weekend. And, don’t forget to close out your weekend with the Women’s History Market at the pop-up exhibit Museum for Black Girls

We’ve rounded up five fun things to do in Houston this weekend:

Beats & Eats

Midtown Park is hosting something for the adults this weekend. The park will hold a live musical performance from local band Mango Punch, plus you can grab a bite to eat from popular street food restaurant Homies.

Bayou City Arts Festival

Prepare to get artsy this weekend with the return of the Bayou City Arts Festival in Memorial Park. This year marks the annual celebration’s 50th anniversary, and the feat will be commemorated by art in ways that you’ve never seen before. The three-day festival will spotlight mixed-media artist Daryl Thetford, plus 300 artists from across the country, and patrons can personally meet artists, view original work and purchase artwork from 19 art disciplines, including world-class paintings, prints, jewelry and sculptures.

Women’s History Market

We’re celebrating women’s history all month long, and this weekend, local brand Wins For Black Girls has partnered with the Houston Museum for Black Girls to host a pop-up shopping experience on Sunday. The market will feature more than 20 women-owned brands at Uptown Park in the Galleria area.

The La Crema Experience

Wine connoisseurs, it’s your time to shine. At the Bayou City Arts Festival this weekend is the La Crema Experience. The winery is bringing tastes of the Sonoma wine country to the Bayou City with its pop-up salon at the festival. Taste the acclaimed wines like pinot noir and chardonnay, and learn more about the meticulous wine practices.
