Houstonia has partnered with BARC Animal Shelter and Adoptions to bring attention to some of our city’s goodest boys and girls. Every week, we’ll be highlighting a pup or kitty currently in need of a forever home. We love animals, and we hope this feature will help bring these furry friends closer to finding their human soulmates.
Meet Houstonia’s Pet of the Week: Zoe!
Zoe is a 3-year-old, 50-pound, Staffordshire-Pit mix who has been waiting for her forever home in foster care since July. Zoe’s foster mom met her while volunteering at the shelter and knew she had to take her home. Zoe came to the shelter bursting with milk but without any of her puppies. She spent the first few days frantically looking for her babies, hesitant to interact with her foster mom. However, with the help of her foster brother (a friendly German Shepherd), Zoe has adapted quite well to home life and is learning to trust humans again.
While it may take a few days for Zoe to be convinced you’re one of the good ones, her foster mom promises she’s well worth the wait. Because she is still getting used to many new sights and sounds, Zoe would do better with older children who understand not to sneak up on her. Her favorite hobbies are snuggling, eating, and slow walks with lots of sniffs.
