The 35th annual Wings Over Houston Airshow will feature one of the largest assemblies of flying and static displays of vintage aircraft in the world.

Prepare for takeoff! The Commemorative Air Force’s Wings Over Houston Airshow returns October 19–20 for its 35th year. The sky above Ellington Airport will transform into the stage, filled with world-famous aerobatic pilots and exciting performances for aviation enthusiasts and novices alike. Houstonians will have the chance to witness soaring performances, skydivers, and see historic aircraft up close.

According to Airshow Director Bill Roach, this year’s Wings Over Houston will feature one of the largest assemblies of flying and static displays of vintage aircraft in the world.

The non-profit airshow will welcome back the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds team, led by Lt. Col. John Caldwell, and show co-headliner, the Canadian Forces Snowbirds. The Snowbirds will be demonstrating more than 50 different formations and maneuvers in the Canadair CT-114 Tutor aircraft. World-renowned aerobatic pilot Sean Tucker will also star in a daring duet with pilot Jessy Panzer in the Oracle Challenger III biplane before its retirement to the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum. Visitors of all ages will be blown away by the roar of the engines and spectacle overhead.

The Canadian Forces Snowbirds will demonstrate more 50 different formations and maneuvers at the airshow.

History buffs will be transported into the past with World War II memorabilia both on the ground and in the air. Tora! Tora! Tora!, a historical reenactment, will recall the bombing of Pearl Harbor with astonishing aerobatics. Meanwhile, history will also be in making, as familiar faces will be joined by fresh talent like the F-35A Lightning II Demonstration Team. Joining the Wings Over Houston Airshow for the first time, the team will be wowing the crowd with a solo performance in the U.S. Air Force’s latest fifth-generation fighter with exceptional stealth capabilities—a first-class treat for attendees to witness.

The show also continues on solid ground; guests can get up close and personal with an assortment of modern and vintage planes, too. Aviation heroes, decorated World War II veterans, and NASA astronauts will also be available for meet-and-greets to sign autographs.

Attendees can meet aviation heroes, like renowned pilot Sean Tucker, as well as decorated World War II veterans and NASA astronauts at the family friendly event.

The family-friendly event will also feature carnival games, rides, and booths filled with souvenirs. From posing in an Instagram-worthy cockpit to experiencing a thrilling motion-simulated flight, Wings Over Houston will have attractions for all ages. Plus, food and beverage options will be available for those looking to cool their jets.

Proceeds from the non-profit community event will benefit the CAF Wings Over Houston Airshow Scholarship Program, Exchange Club of Sugar Land, military recruiting efforts, and the Commemorative Air Force aircraft restoration and flying historical programs.
