MD Anderson’s Boot Walk to End Cancer is back for its fifth year—virtually! Walk 1.2 miles in the safety of your own neighborhood, and be a part of Making Cancer History®. Together, we can give cancer the boot, while apart. Although we’re doing things virtually this year, our commitment to end cancer is stronger than ever. The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center proudly thanks LyondellBasell, presenting sponsor of MD Anderson’s Boot Walk.
On Saturday, Nov. 7, put on your boots (cowboy, rain, combat, desert, hiking: the choice is yours!) and walk 1.2 miles in your own neighborhood, raising important funds along the way in the most unique Boot Walk to date. All of the funds raised go toward supporting MD Anderson’s mission to end cancer. Boot Walk funds support research, prevention, patient programs, and education at MD Anderson. Since 2006, Boot Walk participants have raised more than $6.6 million to support these initiatives.
MD Anderson is honored to rank No. 1 in cancer care in U.S. News & World Report’s annual “Best Hospitals” survey. It has been named one of the nation’s top two cancer hospitals since the survey’s inception in 1990. MD Anderson’s cancer clinical trials program is one of the largest in the nation, offering more than 1,360 clinical trials (many available only at MD Anderson) for both common and rare cancers.
There is no registration fee to walk or minimum fundraising requirement for the Boot Walk. All ages are welcome to participate. The Boot Walk to End Cancer app, available for iPhone and Android, is key to your virtual participation by raising awareness of MD Anderson and tracking your steps. Give cancer the boot, and register to walk or join a team today!
