Michelle Morris

Born in West Virginia, Michelle and her family moved to Texas when she was in junior high school. She attended Friendswood High School, and whether it be cheer practice, track and field, or excelling at her studies, Michelle was unstoppable even in her teen years.

Following high school, Michelle took her talents to Stephen F. Austin State University where she honed her skills in Marketing and Communications. She was recruited to work at Ferguson Enterprises upon graduating and became one of the top saleswomen making The Presidents Gallery selling appliances and fixtures to high-end luxury homes in the Greater Houston Area.

During her high sales achievements, Michelle started a blog called The Culinary Cutie for fun. The Culinary Cutie led to brainstorming ways to take her passion for food and cooking to the next level. This passion led her to pitch the idea of incorporating a Corporate Chef at Ferguson to teach customers how to cook and develop delightful cooking experiences while marketing high-end appliance products, the early days of her business Southern Cadence Cuisine was born.

After Michelle graduated from culinary school, she started her catering company Southern Cadence Cuisine, a boutique luxury catering company providing catering services for corporate events, social dinners, and intimate weddings. In 2018, she and her husband, Darrell Morris, purchased Well Done Cooking Classes to continue teaching others how to cook and deliver memorable experiences for people to share. Michelle serves as Executive Chef for both businesses.

As if Michelle does not have enough on her plate running Well Done Cooking Classes and Southern Cadence Cuisine, she still makes time to create opportunities for other women pursuing their entrepreneurial dreams. She recently started a round table focused on supporting women in business and is always looking for new members.

From selling toilets to the beginnings of a culinary empire, Michelle’s desire to provide a better future for her family is the foundation of her hustle and grit:

“My reason for doing this all is my family. Our hopes are to leave a legacy behind for our children and those who come after. Keep pushing forward and surround yourself with those that want to see you win. It is not going to be easy, nor glamorous, but it is everything I needed and wanted.”
