Houston-based RockStar Wigs were one of the featured artists during the closing show of New York Fashion Week. Avant garde designer Furne Amato (go ahead and Google him. I'll wait. See? He’s a big deal) selected the company to collaborate for the finale on February 13th

“We felt honored and exhilarated!” said Jennifer Reger, co-founder. “It's exciting and has always been one of company's goals to be in Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York.”

The company was started by Houstonians Reger and her brother, Charles, after Charles graduated from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. Post college, he spent two years living in Japan and was inspired by the fashion and culture. Together they developed Gothic Lolita Wigs, which focuses on Japanese trends, then RockStar Wigs, which are more focused on pop culture and Manhattan street fashion. Recently, they delved into the world of makeup with Dolluxe, a line of false lashes.

Judging by the reception of the St. Vincent-esque silver and grey wigs during fashion week, this local line is hitting the big time.
