Last-Minute Mother’s Day Gifts

Is your mom a posh parent? An athlete? A traveler? Here's where to find what she wants.

By Sarah Gabbart May 6, 2014

We’ve been through this. I reminded you a week ago that it’s almost Mother’s Day and you still—STILL!—don’t have a gift. Still.

It’s okay though. We understand that you have a lot of stuff going on. You know who won’t understand if you show up on Sunday with some wilted bouquet you had to battle for at one of those grocery-store tents and no gift? Your mom. Boom.

Our favorite gifts are the ones she’s actually going to enjoy—maybe from one of these awesome local establishments, perhaps?

Posh Parent

Her favorite Spice Girl: Victoria Beckham

Her scene: Triniti with the gals for cocktails, museum galas

A gift fit for this queen: A couple dozen light-but-indulgent macarons from Macarons by Patassie

The Cool Mom

Favorite band: “You know, that one—the one that Leo Dicaprio was dancing to at Cochella.” (It was MGMT, mom—JEEZ!)

Why she’s the best: She signed up for Vine and uses it to film your dad telling jokes.

Where to snag the perfect gift: Grab her some one-of-a-kind art or locally made gifts at Space Montrose.

Active Athlete

Her wake up call: Her 5 a.m. alarm—gotta make it to spinning!

Daily uniform: Lululemon yoga pants, prana top and sneakers

The perfect feel-the-burn surprise: A high-flying class at Vault, where she can make like Cirque du Soleil while working every muscle in her body

The Travelista

Her favorite passport stamp: The one she hasn’t earned yet

The item she always packs first: Her trusty journal so she can regale you with her adventures when she returns

Her “How have I never been here?” shop: Saint Cloud, which feels like a vacation filled with beautiful and exotic wares from around the world.
