What to Wear There: Houston Ballet's Presentation of Swan Lake

This weekend is your last chance to catch the Houston Ballet's performance of Swan Lake. If you're on the fence about attending because you just don't know what you'd wear (#firstworldproblems), we're here for you with a little "What to Wear There" inspiration board.

There are a couple of things to keep in mind when choosing your attire for the ballet, the most important being the undeniable desire one gets to become a ballerina after the performance.

Let me backstep. I don't mean become become. That's seems hard, what with the hours upon hours of practice, pain, and sweat. What I mean is, you'll be so overcome with the grace and beauty of the dance that you'll be plieing and pirouetting out the Wortham Center door. My advice: Don't fight it. Wear flats.

You'll also want to don your best Degas-esque ballerina dress. Something with a little flow will make for a beautiful twirl. Then add a jacket because those theaters are always chilly. I'd opt for a motorcycle jacket because classic and edgy make a great combo (also because I'd totally be Zoe Saldana's character in Center Stage). A pop of color in a stud earring and a high bun for your hair, and you're off to the ballet. Buy tickets here.
