Don't Stop Shopping Yet: All Hail The Sale

Shop to cure childhood cancer, or just for the deals.

For fashionable Parisians, the only thing better than a Joyeux Noël are the legendary sales known as Les Soldes, which kick off in the second week of January and offer heady discounts on high fashion. (How else do you think all those young Parisians stay so glamorous while paying Paris rents?)

The Sale
Jan 10 & 11, noon-6pm
Bayou City Events Center
9401 Knight Rd.

Stateside, post-holiday sales are nothing new, but this year for the first time the Houston Tri Delta alumnae chapter has organized a charitable and convenient way for Houston shoppers to find deals at their favorite local stores without running all over town. The Sale will host dozens of popular local boutiques, including Tootsies, Sam & Lilli, Elaine Turner, Manready Mercantile, Cotton Club, Cheeky Vintage, and Julie Rhodes Fashion & Home, plus Houston-made brands such as purses from Pearland's Audish Accessories, Mirta Tummino jewelry, luxe python clutches from Presmer, and colorful scarves by Manoosh.

The Sale is modeled after the annual Super Saturday events in Santa Monica and the Hamptons, but for Texas, of course, the event had to be bigger, so it will be open to the public all weekend. Entrance tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door, and all proceeds support The University of Texas MD Anderson Children’s Cancer Hospital. The Sale has already raised over $220,000 from underwriters even before the event's kick-off. For those who want to give more (or who just want first crack at all the deals) there's also a preview brunch on Saturday offering mimosas, bites, and exclusive shopping until noon for $150.

Remember, it's not how much you spend, it's how much you save.
