For the regal water nymph in everyone.

Looks from the Carolina Herrera Fall/Winter 2015 collection

With a simple idea, brilliance is bound to occur. That's true of Carolina Herrera's Fall/Winter 2015 presentation. The 76-year-old designer still surprises us with her beautifully crafted designs—her aesthetic, though always imbued with classic elegance, continues to reach for the future. Her motif in this season was water, brought to the fore with literal and abstract interpretations. The wave-ruffled gowns and droplet print skirts left me gasping for air as if I were drowning in a sea of resplendence.

"I have a resposiblilty to the woman of today—to make her feel confident, modern and above all else beautiful," said Herrera.

There was a powerful, gripping gravity to this lovely collection, a pull like that of the moon as it creates the tides. Organic thinking creates the illusion of effortless grace and beauty, and Herrera's designs are a perfect example.
