The Traveling Black Dress: Rodeo Edition

Give that LBD a country-glam makeover.

Rodeo Houston, the world's largest live entertainment and livestock exhibition, is coming up soon. There will be a full two weeks of concerts, rodeo events, livestock and horse shows, cookoffs and the carnival. A girl needs outfits to wear to all of these activities, so let's put that black dress to use! Whether you are attending or voluteering to help (with the over 2.5 million people coming through the doors), a western-themed outfit is in order.

Dress from Em & Lee boutique

I took my LBD over to Jubilee, a cozy shop on 19th Street in the Heights. They have all kinds of rodeo wear (among many other things) at very friendly prices. These pieces are contemporary western and can be used again with other looks. The long fringe vest could be worn later with jean shorts or a print mini skirt to create a bohemian look and the feminine turqoise blouse could be worn with a floral skirt or pants for a fresh spring look.

All clothing, accessories, hat and boots from Jubilee

The turquoise jewelry and leather bracelets are sophisticated. So fun to mix and match.

"Live Your Dream" in these super cute boots.
