Lost and confused about what to give mom on May 10? Luckily local retailers have you covered, hosting a plethora of designers and trunk shows full of gift-ready jewels, scents, home accessories and more that are perfect for Mother's Day, or maybe just for you.

May 6-7: Claudia Lobao Personal Appearance at Tootsies. Jewelry designs by this Brazilian-born resident of San Antonio have been flying off shelves ever since they became a staple of the suburban set on Desperate Housewives over a decade ago, perfect for the woman who likes her jewelry of the statement-making variety.

May 6-10: Nanette Lepore Personal Appearance and Trunk Show at Tootsies. The annual mother-daughter dinner—this year with Ms. Lepore herself—on May 6 has already sold out, but if you want a chance to see the designer in person, you can still snag tickets to the fashion show for $50. Or stop in later in the week—Tootsies will have the New York designer's colorful, Uptown Girl–approved spring collection in store for almost a week.

May 6: Ippolita Trunk Show at Neiman Marcus. You should already know if someone you love is an Ippolita fan—the brand's famed gemstone bangles are made to be stacked, so wearers can jingle and sparkle all over town. Check out the new collection of rings, stud earrings and pendant necklaces centered around the brand's signature faceted, candy-colored gemstones.

May 6: Stephen Webster Fine Jewelry Launch at Sloan/Hall. It's very simple: your mom is a rock star, and Stephen Webster makes rock star jewelry, the kind with bold imagery—thorns, bats and sea creatures, oh my—that's only matched by the carat count in each piece.

May 7-9: Chan Luu Bazaar at J. Landa. Chan Luu's signature wrap bracelets have been a bestseller at J. Landa for years, and this weekend the store is hosting the designer's first-ever bazaar, featuring fashion and home accessories from around the world. At the launch party on Thursday evening, 10 percent of sales will be donated to Dress for Success Houston, and Luu herself will be at the store both Thursday and Friday.

May 7: Marco Bicego Personal Appearance at Zadok Jewelers. There's a direct line between the opulent jewelry of ancient Rome and the gorgeously imperfect, handcrafted gold coils, circles and lines that mark the work of Italian jeweler Marco Bicego, who will be making a trip to Zadok to display his latest collection.

May 7-8: Mother's Day Jewelry Trunk Show at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston Shop. Check out sparklers by two distinctive artisans: Lynn Smith, who uses gemstones in unexpected ways to create one-of-a-kind designs, and Laura Castriotta, a local whose work is globally inspired.

May 7: Victoria Christian Personal Appearance at Saks Fifth Avenue. If you don't want to be outdone in the competition for Most Favored Offspring, you're going to need to spare no expense in treating mom like royalty this weekend. What better time to splurge on a bottle of Clive Christian No1 Imperial fragrance, a special limited edition version of the world's most expensive perfume.

May 8: Mackenzie-Childs Personal Appearance with Rebecca Proctor at Neiman Marcus. Everyday home accesories are transformed into objects of elegant whimsy (yes, that's a thing) under the direction of Mackenzie-Childs creative director Proctor, who will be on hand to offer advice on exactly the right piece of floral or courtly check to gift.

May 8-9: Spring Trunk Show featuring Jason Kishell and Caitie Sellers at HCCC's Asher Gallery. For the mom with a more artistic bent, this weekend's closing trunk show at the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft has some unexpected options, from Kishell's haunting, nature-inspired creamics to Sellers's jewelry works in sterling silver and copper mesh that mimic the familiar curve of Houston's freeways.
