The Traveling Black Dress: Spanish Rose Edition

The runways had us dreaming of Barcelona this spring. Ruffles, black lace, flamenco skirts, off-the-shoulder details, big jewelry and the color red were a few of the big trends that came together as a bold Spanish flamenco look.
Designers including Naeem Khan, Marchesa, Oscar de la Renta, Roberto Cavalli, Givenchy and Balmain all strutted models that made you want to get on a plane and fly straight to Madrid! I was, of course, inspired to add that modern Spanish flair to my little black dress.
I added a lace off-the-shoulder crop top, peseta-inspired earrings and chain belt, rose graphic tights, a large red shawl and roses in my hair. Que bonita!

This look originated with the Spanish gypsies in the 19th century and became popular in Hollywood thanks to Carmen Miranda.
