What to Wear for Spring Break

There is a common theme in my spring break outfit choices: denim. I love wearing denim while on vacation because you can create many outfits with one staple piece. This is crucial when your goal is to pack light.
My first look is a simple denim dress. It is comfortable and can be worn in many different ways. Jazz it up for a night on the town with some heels and chunky jewelry. Or keep it low-key with some flats and simple accessories. My second look incorporates a skirt that can be thrown over a swimsuit, worn sightseeing or to lunch. Not to mention the simple flats are super comfy. For my last look, I opted for a statement floral top. Every girl needs one of these for spring. And I personally find that off-the-shoulder pieces are universally flattering.
If you are traveling this spring, my No. 1 tip is to invest in good luggage! Make sure you get a suitcase that has wheels, many compartments and a bold color, making it easy to spot at the airport.

1. Always pack a swimsuit, even if you don't get in the water. Choose a suit that is appropriate to your body type. I love this ruffled off-the-shoulder swimsuit from J.Crew. It is so flattering and works for all ages and most sizes. I always wear a hat and take a cover up like this long black skirt.
2. These cute J.Crew shorts and trending stripe top are versatile in that they can both be worn with other coordinating pieces. The top would also be great with white cropped jeans and the shorts would be great with a tank top and hoodie with sneakers.
3. You can't go wrong with denim. It's all about the cropped jeans. The fringe blue jean crops are so cute. They work well with off the shoulder tops and you can never have too many white shirts. Accessorize with big hats, sunglasses and colorful, chunky jewelry.
The most important thing, above all, is sunscreen. It should be the first thing packed and the first thing you put on your body every day!

I’ve always felt that once you’re past a certain age, people judge you for still going on “spring break.” So not sure if I’m alone in this at 25, but since graduating college, I’ve kept spring break alive by planning a trip with my friends! This year, I will be at Coachella in Palm Springs (finally)!
1. Here is the look I am going for during the day/festival parlay. I’ve seen a lot of the captain hat trend lately and I’m thinking a hat will be well needed in the desert paired with ankle booties, stacked bracelets, a sheer dress to keep it breezy and a backpack to haul all necessities!
2. When I think of Coachella, I envision being at some rad party drinking margs out of a palm-tree-shaped straw next to a pool filled with pizza, pretzel, and donut floaties (is this so 2016?). I don’t know how and I don’t know where this will be, but my mission is to crash someone’s pool! Poolside, I would love to wear this eye-catching bodysuit under lace-up jean shorts—anything lace-up is def trending right now! I would accessorize the look with way too many rose gold rings, a cute sandal with a low and comfy heel and a cross-body bag to keep my sunscreen handy.
3. I’m making it my mission to go to Desert Hills Premium Outlets at some point during the trip to snag some discounted goodies. For this outing, I want to channel my inner @aureta (minus the eight-inch heels) and walk into every shop looking like a million bucks. To stand out, I would wear a modern Canadian tuxedo look, which for me is a sequin denim jacket/star print jean combo with embellished sandals and huge, obnoxious sunglasses!
With every look, my No. 1 accessory is SUNSCREEN! No matter where I go, I always bring Neutrogena’s Beach Defense, which keeps my skin moisturized and protected. It has SPF 70 and I believe is the one thing that has ever kept my skin very clear.

1. A white dress is a summer must-have and this one with bell sleeves is on-trend and figure flattering.
2. The menswear trend is not going anywhere and I love this chic button-down with the tie front detail to keep things light and fun.
3. Maxis easily transition from day to night and this strapless, striped style is perfect for everything from shopping and site seeing to after dinner cocktails.
My favorite spring break travel tip is a beauty must-have: stock up on a few good sheet masks. They’re a necessity to hydrate and calm my skin after a long flight and they’re particularly refreshing after a hot day in the sun. Plus they are TSA-friendly!

1. I just bought this light, airy bright dress from Target and it was cute and comfortable for my recent trip to Malibu Beach. I love the price point (under $25) and I’ll be able to use it after my pregnancy and style it many different ways with a jean jacket, sneakers or booties.
2. This outfit perfectly describes my style: fun, colorful and trendy. Off-the-shoulder styles are still trending and this is one dress you can take to the beach, wear with heels or your Converse sneakers and it’ll still look good. I love to accessorize with a fun bag like this watermelon bag, which is perfect for spring and summer!
3. This airy, silky dress has all my favorite colors and it just screams spring! Can you see a pattern already? I love dresses during the springtime and they’re so easy to pack on vacation or to dress up or down. I chose this gorgeous floral dress because it had all my favorite colors and even though it’s also not maternity, it made for some beautiful spring pregnancy photos for the blog. You can wear this with some nude flat sandals or dress it up with some pink block heels and it’ll still look amazing!
My best spring break tips? Travel with a light make-up bag by choosing multitasking products like the It Cosmetics CC Cream (which is a foundation, suscreen and anti-aging serum in one product!) and Too Faced Snow Bunny bronzer (which doubles as eyeshadow). I always pack a single use sheet facial mask from Patchology because it makes for a mess-free treatment that keeps me glowing and revitalizes my skin after a plane ride on vacation.
Real talk: my closet is full of lumpy sweaters that I do not care to look at again until the fall. Suffice to say I am more than ready for spring break. Whether or not you've got a week off, just thinking about it should inspire easy, breezy outfits in anticipation of summer.
