"Glossier You" smells different on everyone.

February is officially gone, and with it any semblance of consistent weather patterns, apparently, because it’s just that time of year in Houston. If you didn’t exactly get what you wanted from your special someone this Valentine's Day, or if you’re just on the hunt for a lovely way to treat yourself, look no further than a new offering from the geniuses that brought you the boy brow.

Glossier debuted its first fragrance just before the holidays, and in case you missed it, it’s amazing. Dubbed “Glossier You,” the perfume is perfect for those of us searching for a subtle scent; other than that, words to describe the aroma are hard to pin down after your first sniff. Glossier CEO Emily Weiss told Vogue, “I want it to smell like your boyfriend’s neck after he has been wearing cologne for eight hours.” From this writer’s perspective, that sounds about right.

“You” has a light, rustic smell suggesting cedar, a touch of freshness, and a hint of dryer sheet. All of these scents combine to create a fragrance that truly does smell like you–but better. The Glossier brand is already famous for its minimalist style, with makeup and skincare items meant for lighter wear and by a variety of skin tones. This perfume expertly follows that same path, offering an easy, everyday scent that transitions just fine into evening.

Glossier says the brand believes the first ingredient in making its perfume so delicious is the wearer herself. After that comes the ambrette, ambrox, and musk, mingling with your own unique smell to create the perfect, one-of-a-kind fragrance.
