As you probably know, Houston Sports Awards inducted its 2019 class into the Hall of Fame earlier his month. This year's additions, honored at the February 6 ceremony at downtown's Hilton Americas, include Masters champion Jackie Burke Jr., four-time Indianapolis 500 winner A.J. Foyt, heavyweight boxing world champion George Foreman, and former Houston Oilers quarterback and "golden boy" Dan Pastorini.
Except we're not here to talk about these legends' storied careers. We're here to talk about their clothes.
Specifically, their custom jackets made by Knot Standard, the luxury menswear and bespoke tailoring company that opened its first showroom in Houston back in 2015. Revealed at the awards ceremony, the Hall of Famers' sport coats are made of cream-colored Italian wool and feature the Houston Sports Hall of Fame logo and the year of induction.
But the real charming detail is beneath the collar, where Knot Standard customized the jackets by embroidering the athlete's most endearing nickname in the color of their most sentimental sports team. Awww.
