High-class retailer Elizabeth Anthony, recently revealed the November line up for their must-see trunk shows. Among the featured designers were Jason Wu and his eponymous collection of colorful resort wear for Spring 2022.
The New York based couturier, well known for his sophisticated and glamorous designs, looked to his trademarked florals and abstract silhouettes for the latest assemblage. In a stunning array of breathtaking gowns, monochrome knits and fluid separates, each garment is intricately detailed for a formal yet relaxed collection-the ideal post-pandemic designs shoppers are browsing for.
Wu also tapped Cara Marie Piazza, a fabric artist who specializes in natural dyes to develop her prints. Piazza uses a special fabric bundling technique by applying color with a sponge, however, with Wu’s collection, the pair turned to flowers. By placing the flowerets on fabric, they’ll imprint themselves onto the textiles to create what Wu described, an impressionistic look.
Notable pieces from the resort collection include Look 23, a golden yellow separate with a sheer top, overlaid by an abstract ruffle design and paired with a matching drawstring skirt. Look 29 features the floral technique of red, purple and orange hues sponged upon a midi dress and overlaid by black lace and a stunning closing gown. Using the same blue and green floral fabric technique, the striking gown of Look 34 can be described as the leading dress of the spring season featuring off the shoulder sleeves, fanned out neckline and hidden pockets.
As we reach the middle of November, there are still plenty of trunk shows to visit at Elizabeth Anthony. Still to go are The Fine Jewelry Collection by Arunashi, as well as a personal appearance by jeweler and designer Jenny Packham’s Resort /Spring 2022 Collection and Jeffrey Levinson’s Designer Handbag Collection.
