TV Comes to Houston

First we got Married to Medicine. Now more TV networks are flocking to Houston.

Finally, Houston-based reality TV is becoming a, well, reality, with Bravo reality series Married to Medicine filming locally. Now, two more channels are adding to the prime time appeal of Houston—one filming here, and one recruiting (ahem) talent here.

HBO’s sports docu-series Hard Knocks recently announced they'll be filming the Houston Texans this summer and autumn. Sponsored by the NFL, the series showcases the lives of players and coaches from one team each season. This time it's the Texans, and as HBO and the NFL like to remind viewers, the last four teams featured on the show improved their win-loss record during the season directly following production. So if the pattern holds, football fans are in for a treat.

If football isn’t your style, but you still enjoy full-contact sports, then have no fear. The Bad Girls Club (brought to you by the brilliant minds of The Real World and Keeping Up With the Kardashians) is planning to recruit here, although the question is when. The show was supposed to be here this Saturday at Lucky's Pub in the Heights but postponed its appearance due to the storms. Keep an eye on this space for updates on auditions for everyone's favorite show about young women who like to party, drink, get in physical altercations and maybe get involved with the police, all while living in a luxurious mansion. The bad girls don’t compete, yet for 13 seasons the stakes have always felt high. With over 200 episodes and counting, the formula just keeps working. Oh, and when auditions do take place, note that producers are especially looking for sisters—twins encouraged.
