Head Inside the Studio with Stages Studio Sessions

There may be a pandemic raging outside, but that doesn’t mean artists aren’t still creating, and Stages is now giving some of those creatives a platform to show off their new work as part of an eight-week online series, Stages Studio Sessions.
The program is all about continuing the company’s commitment to fostering new Bayou City talent, Stages artistic associate Mitchell Greco said in a statement. “We think it’s vital for us to continue to create and innovate—our community needs it, and so do we,” said Greco, who helmed the project. “Through this project, we’re able to provide work, employment, and creative growth for Houston artists, as well as providing life-affirming entertainment for audiences.”
Each week from August 21 through October 11, a Houston-based performer will share a one-hour program of their own creation that incorporates various theatrical elements. Participants in the series include actors Holland Vavra and Mark Ivy, as well as spoken-word artist Outspoken Bean, so expect a series full of singing, storytelling, and poetry. Who knows, someone might even bust a move.
And don’t worry, if you can’t tune in to a session on Friday night, every performance will be available for two days after it airs.
Free (ticket reservation is required). Online. More info and ticket reservation at stageshouston.com. And Check out the full lineup below.
