H-Town Hottie Megan Thee Stallion has had an impressive run in 2021. Coming back from winning multiple Grammy Awards and a brief hiatus, the rapper made another smash hit with her single “Thot Sh*t” and still finds the time to shatter the glass ceiling and make history.
Last week, PageSix reported that the "Savage'' rapper is poised to be on one of the covers of the upcoming Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue. A source told Page Six that “she’s the biggest star [right now], so it’s a no-brainer and they love surprises.”
Most of the news in regards to the upcoming magazine issue has been kept under wraps, and multiple models have participated in cover-style shoots. So we won’t know officially if the Houston Hottie made the cut, that is until the magazine is released.
The Houston emcee would make the first ever rapper to be a cover girl for Sports Illustrated’s forthcoming swimsuit issue. Her latest feat is worth commending, as Thee Stallion would make the second ever artist to pose for the cover, as “Savage (Remix)” collaborator and fellow Houston native Beyoncé was on the cover of the magazine in 2007, becoming the first non-athlete/non-model to be featured, according to XXL.
The news isn’t super far off for the Houston rapper, who recently released her new line of swimwear with mega fashion brand Fashion Nova.
Fans can expect the upcoming issue of Sports Illustrated to hit the stands on July 19.
