What We Found Out About Houston Love Is Blind Contestants

We cyberstalked the season five cast of the popular Netflix show so you don’t have to.

Love Is Blind season five, premiering on September 22, is set in Houston.

Love is in the air, Houston. The season five premiere of Netflix’s Love Is Blind debuts on Friday, September 22. While previous seasons of the hit series have taken place in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, and Seattle, this season is spending time in the great city of Houston.

If you aren’t familiar with the show or can’t be bothered to renew your Netflix subscription, here’s the gist: the popular reality dating series follows the journey of 30 singles who attempt to fall in love without seeing each other’s face. Once they make their connections, they meet and get engaged—crazy, right? The show then documents their lives as they journey to the altar, testing to see if love is truly blind.

Before you cancel all your plans to cozy up and binge-watch the first batch of episodes this weekend, read on for what we found out about the Houston-based cast.

Is love truly blind? Houstonians are about to find out.

James "Milton" Johnson IV, 25

The petroleum engineer is one of the youngest singles on this season of the show. He’s a huge foodie (like most Houstonians) and nature lover. Johnson is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at Rice University and is looking to find someone just as goal-oriented as him.

Erica Anthony, 27

This marketing manager joins season five of Love Is Blind in hopes of finding her very own version of season one’s Cameron Hamilton. She revealed in a TikTok video she was initially scared to tell her old-school parents that she was a cast member, explaining that her father hates reality TV. However, they became believers after watching an episode of the show. When Anthony’s not in the Bayou City, you can find her frolicking in Los Angeles.

Aaliyah, 29

It’s hard to find love when you’re always on the go. This is probably why this ICU travel nurse is pumping the brakes in H-Town for this season of LIB. When she’s not traveling the world for work or leisure, the self-love queen is indulging in creative endeavors such as singing. Hopefully, she’ll find her perfect love story.

Uche Okoroha, 34

This Nigerian lawyer and entrepreneur is the CEO and co-founder of TaxRobot, a system that helps automate your R&D tax credit. He received his Bachelor of Science at the University of Houston and attended the George Washington University Law School. He’s in search of someone who can match his energy.

Mayra Cardenas, 25

Known as the Taylor Swift of preaching, Cardenas, a Latina minister, is another one of the youngest cast members of this season of LIB. She’s in search of finding her true love and aims to build a foundation based on her religious belief system.

Johnie Maraist, 32

This beagle-loving lawyer enjoys spending time with her friends and loves traveling. When she’s not pouncing around town with her two pups, the lawyer, who also doubles as a certified personal trainer, is staying fit in the gym. Any guess on who’ll get her heart racing while in the pod?

Every season, 30 singles try to find love on the hit Netflix show.

Connor Moore, 31

Looking for a wholesome and—according to his Instagram bio—“above-average” Spanish-speaking contestant? Look no further. This geoscientist is another hopeful single in search of a wife and mom for his fur baby. Hopefully, this Texas A&M Alum is able to find just that.

Miriam, 32

Chemistry is the last subject this scientist thought she’d need help with. Maybe her luck will change as she attempts to find love in this season of the show. Other than looking for her perfect match, the Houston-based single is the founder of plant-based, eco-friendly skincare brand Zack & Lucy.

Carter Dale Wall, 30

Will this H-Town native be able to find his perfect catch this season? We expect to see the construction worker cast wide nets, as he loves to fish. It’s possible he may even drop some knowledge about baseball or attend a game or two with his potential sweetie on the show.

Lydia Arleen, 32

Like most new Houstonians, this enthusiastic geologist made the city her home in 2020. She is Puerto Rican, loves traveling, and adores poetry. She revealed the ultimate key to her heart is by being transparent and emotionally mature.

Stacy Snyder, 34

This fashion and beauty lover and director of operations was born in California, raised in Nashville, and is now based and searching for her perfect match in the great city of Houston. She spends her days at Method Pilates working as a pilates instructor. We predict she’ll reform her love life in this new season of LIB.

Renee Poche, 32

Love is ruff for this H-Town veterinarian, but maybe her luck will change on this season of the show. Poche loves animals and is passionate about caring for our feline and canine friends. She speaks both English and French, enjoys gardening and traveling, and is excited to find a bébé papa—a.k.a. “baby daddy”—on the show.

Will each contestant find the love of their life, or is Love Is Blind just another (televised) dating app?
