Celebrity chef Kent Rathbun celebrates the 10th anniversary of Jasper's this Sunday in The Woodlands.

Long before The Woodlands became the dining mecca it's transformed into today, Kent Rathbun was opening Jasper's as the crown jewel of the then-new Market Street, the mixed-use development that debuted in 2004.

This weekend, the local celebrity chef will be on hand at Jasper’s to celebrate its 10-year anniversary. In those 10 years, plenty of restaurants have come and gone, but Jasper's has remained a community favorite among Woodlands residents, who are expected to pack the party that's kicking off this Sunday at 4 p.m.

The event will include a live band, Doppelganger, and guests will have a cooking experience with Rathbun himself as the chef will be demonstrating new dishes. “I recently did a cooking class with Carr Valley Cheese in Wisconsin so guests will have a chance to taste those as well as some favorites and new recipes prepared by our new chef, Scott Neuman,” Rathbun says.

Rathbun knows that Jasper's regulars have their favorites, so he made sure the restaurant's most popular dishes were on the menu for the anniversary party. Look for rotisserie roasted suckling pig, lobster shooters, prime rib flautas, a special anniversary cake and a sundae bar stocked by Fat Cat Creamery.

Today, Jasper's counts two additional locations in Plano and Austin. And in 2016, Rathbun says they'll be opening a third—this time in Richardson, another Dallas suburb. New menu items are in the works for all four locations come next year. As for the next 10 years, Rathbun said they do have additional expansion plans for Jasper's. But for now? “Our main goal is to provide guests with consistent product while still being innovative and relevant in the culinary scene.”
