Partying at Eight Row Flint.

As if any H-Towner needed more convincing to go out for barbecue, Eight Row Flint will be hosting a barbecue event on October 9, 11 a.m. until 4 p.m., to benefit Agricole Hospitality’s Chefs Cycle team raising money for No Kid Hungry. Guests should come ready to eat and tailgate while they watch the Houston Texans face off against the Minnesota Vikings for a good cause.

Chefs Cycle is a fundraising event in which award-winning chefs across the U.S. ride their bikes to fight hunger. Between June 27 and June 29, 125 chefs rode from Camel to Santa Barbara, and now they’re gearing up for the next ride in Dallas on October 18. The tailgate will aid in raising money for No Kid Hungry.

The event will be hosted by four chefs from cooking collaborative of Houston chefs, HOUBBQ Collective: Ryan Pera from Agricole Hospitality will be smoking a whole hog overnight and serving plates of North Carolina-style pulled pork with red chile vinegar sauce. Seth Siegel-Gardner and Terrence Gallivan from the Pass and Provisions and Chris Shepherd from Underbelly will focus on beef with Texas-style beef ribs, Hill Country-style sausage, smoked beef shoulder and sides. Each plate is $45 if you buy before October 7, or $50 at the door; we suggest purchasing your passes online. Either way you’re, also getting a complimentary glass of Eight Row Punch.

If you’re so inclined and consider yourself a barbecue connoisseur, you can come the night before for a “reverse” happy hour as chef Ryan Pera and the team get the hog going. Cheers for $3 beers and $5 margaritas!
