As if summer in Houston couldn’t get any more delicious, Michael’s Cookie Jar is partnering with Boomtown Coffee and Fat Cat Creamery to bring a next-level café to Tanglewood. Houstonia took a hard hat tour of the construction last week to see the store before it opens its doors later this month or early next month at 1864 Fountain View Dr.

Upon entering the third Michael’s Cookie Jar, customers can expect to see an L-shaped counter connected to the right side of the wall with walking and viewing space to the left. Customers, in order, can view selections of cookies from Michael’s, ice cream from Fat Cat Creamery and, in the back corner of the counter, a selection of drinks from Boomtown Coffee.

The new location is almost ready.

After ordering, you can take a seat at one of the tables inside or, if the weather is nice enough, enjoy a seat outside. Owner Michael Savino explains that what makes this different than his other stores is the ambiance of a café. “We want customers to come in and stay as if it’s their second living room,” says Savino.

Besides the free wi-fi, customers can look forward to five different flavors of ice cream from Fat Cat Creamery. Three will be staples like chocolate and vanilla, while the other two will consist of a non-dairy option and a seasonal sweet. A bonus? You can combine Savino's wares with Fat Cat's frozen treats for ultra-fresh ice cream sandwiches.

Looking to stay in keeping with the theme when you choose your roast? Boomtown plans on offering a cookie dough latte that you’ll be able to enjoy hot or cold. There’s also talk of cereal or cookie-flavored milk to enjoy with your cookies.
