Beyoncé Is Designing Shoes with Giuseppe Zanotti

Finally, something to go with your freakum dress.

A couple months after her forthcoming streetwear line for Topshop was announced, it looks like Beyoncé is enjoying her new role as a fashion designer. Speaking to Forbes last month, Italian footwear designer Giuseppe Zanotti dropped the bomb that Queen Bey is designing a shoe with him.

"Beyoncé has very clear ideas – she knows exactly what she wants. ... I’m working on finalizing the shoe with her stylist right now. And Beyoncé will then say what she likes and what she doesn’t like," said the designer, brandishing a sketch of a thick platform stiletto.

For those not familiar with footwear that cost upwards of four digits, the original stiletto overlords like Manolo Blahnik and Jimmy Choo have of late been joined by Christian Louboutin (he of the famous, immediately-scuffed red soles) and Zanotti, whose over-the-top, architectural creations have been embraced by stylesetters like Rihanna and Nicki Minaj, the latter of whom has name-checked her pair of Zanotti sneakers in verse.

In adding "shoe designer" to her list of credentials, Beyoncé joins little sister Solange, who has previously created a pair of colorful capsule collections for Puma. There's no word on an official date when the Bey shoe will drop, so here's hoping it won't happen before the first Giuseppe Zanotti store opens in Houston later this year.
