River Oaks District is currently under construction and scheduled to open in late 2015.

With its opening date scheduled for late 2015, River Oaks District is starting to put neighboring shopping centers on notice. The luxury mixed-use development announced on Tuesday that several more high-end boutiques and restaurants have executed agreements to open locations inside the center.

Big fashion gets include Stella McCartney, Vince, and Alice + Olivia, the first stand-alone storefronts in Houston for each of the brands, and the first store in Texas for Alice + Olivia. Vince is known for both men's and women's contemporary clothing, but the other two concepts focus on women's clothes and accessories, adding a bit more balance to previously announced River Oaks District stores that specialize in menswear, including Bonobos, Bruno Cucinelli and John Lobb.

Another destination that might get the ladies excited is Van Cleef & Arpels, a French jeweler that currently operates a mini shop-in-shop inside Neiman Marcus at the Galleria. Van Cleef & Arpels is the fourth luxury jeweler and watchmaker to sign on to the new development, joining Cartier, Patek Philippe at deBoulle and Chopard.

Other new stores on the horizon include French swimwear brand Vilebrequin, vintage-inspired California concept Planet Blue, luxury Swiss tobacco brand Davidoff of Geneva since 1911 and Houston-based luxury handbag and footwear brand St. Nicola, which is currently located in West Ave.

On the culinary side of the equation, Phoenix's popular Steak 44 steakhouse will be expanding to Houston's friendly turf, billed as the kind of contemporary steakhouse that could challenge Vic & Anthony's supremacy (despite the fact that both concepts are owned by Landry's).

These new boutiques and concepts will be alongside other previously announced tenants including Dior, Diptyque, Kiton, Hermès, Tom Ford, Equinox and iPic Theaters.
