Houstonian Elizabeth Parry couldn't find all-natural products for her sensitive skin, so she made her own.

One of the most frustrating things about having sensitive skin is the process I have to go through when testing new products. The ladies manning beauty counters probably think I’m looking for free products when I ask for endless samples, but the truth is, I need to test every lotion, serum and moisturizer before investing in the purchase.

The truth is, sensitive skin needs a lot of TLC—that's what drives Houstonian Elizabeth Koval Parry. A successful interior designer by trade, Parry started creating her own beauty products more than a decade ago when her allergies to both environmental and edible origins flared. She had to reevaluate everything she was consuming and applying to her body. Frustrated with the lack of all-natural products on the market, eventually she started making her own, using her KitchenAid mixer to whip up handcrafted sugar scrubs.

Now she's taken her passion to the next level and created Parry Botanicals, an all-natural line of skincare products designed to work on sensitive skin by using pure, plant-based ingredients—think soothing aloe vera, calming chamomile and hydrating palm oils, and absolutely no added dyes, parabens or fragrances.

“Many products say they are all-natural but really aren’t. I set out to create a truly 100-percent natural brand that people can trust,” says Parry. “I wanted to create a product that with one look at the label, you felt safe buying our brand for yourself or anyone in your family.”

Available through the brand's website, at both Bering’s locations, through Dr. Mark Schusterman’s office and at the Museum District’s Bella Rosa MedSpa and Surgery Center, the Parry Botanicals collection includes Pure Botanical Lotion ($26), Body Cream ($22) and Restorative Cream ($18).

“If I had to pick one, I would say my favorite is the Restorative Cream. I use it every single night all over my body, including my face, because it’s incredibly hydrating and stays with you, in a good way,” Parry says.

Because of Parry's commitment to ingredients that won't irritate the skin, her products can be used on newborns to elders, and can help improve and heal skin-related medical conditions. She also recommends the Restorative Cream on stretch marks and diaper rash, and notes that it can even help soothe the 'sunburn' effect caused by radiation treatments.

“Since [the line is] made with high quality botanical oils and extracts, you can literally feel the difference with one use,” Parry says. “Many eczema sufferers are experiencing relief in only two to three applications. We are also great for allergy and asthma sufferers, as well as dermatology patients.”

Parry Botanicals officially launches on Saturday, April 23, when Parry will make an appearance at Bering's Bissonnet location from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., offering samples and answering questions about the line.
