Last month, Dallas-based outdoor and lifestyle retailer Saint Bernard officially opened the doors to its first Houston shop, a 14,000-square-foot space that includes a full-service ski shop and a men’s lounge with coffee and draft beer on tap.

“People love the convenience of being able to fully outfit their closets for life and travel at one place,” said Saint Bernard COO Charlie Goyer.
Named after the family's St. Bernard dog, the brand appeals to a wide range of people and ages. The variety at Saint Bernard is what sets them apart. Opening in Dallas in 1978 as a specialty ski store, Wes and Anne Goyer cultivated their son’s passion for the outdoors. Charlie says they pride themselves on being one of the best ski stores out there.
Goyer said he has met a lot of skiers from Houston on chairlifts and has always noticed that they have great style.
“Houstonians love to travel and we think that they’ll love coming into Saint Bernard before their trips,” he said. “We want people to look forward to coming in. We put the lounge on the men’s side because every now and again the women will out-shop the men, and the guys will need a place to hang out,” he said.
Cupcakes and Cashmere, Mara Hoffman, Shoshanna and Peter Millar are a few of the brands that will be featured in the Houston location. Sorry, ski fans, the namesake Saint Bernard puppy was just there for the grand opening party.
