All concealers are not created equal. No matter how much I sleep, eat well, or exercise, I am "blessed" with puffy under-eye circles—thanks, genetics! Perking up the area around your eyes is an easy and quick fix to make you look alert and awake and definitely not hungover, no siree.

A couple tips: Always make sure the your eye area is moisturized—never put concealer on dry or parched skin! Use the right utensils, whether it be a brush, your fingertips, or a sponge, and invest in some eye brightening or under-the-eye setting powder (like this really affordable one from Elf).

After a lot of trial and error, here’s of some of my favorite affordable—as in under $15—concealers that do what they promise and provide plenty of coverage for your buck.

L'Oréal True Match, $8.95

My skin tends to be ruddy and have yellow undertones and part of the reason I'm a big fan is that True Match has a lot of color choices taking into account your skin's undertone. L'Oréal makes more than one concealer, but I prefer this one as it doesn’t melt in my purse and can easily be touched up throughout the day.

NYX Dark Circle Concealer, $5.99

NYX has been making quite a name for themselves in the affordable beauty world and just launched their first standalone stores in Houston. At first the orange-yellow tint of this concealer turned me off, but the hue is designed to counteract blue tones, and it covers the darker areas of your delicate under-eye like magic—just make sure you have a good concealer brush to apply.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Concealer, $12.99

This was an impulse buy. I admit it. Neutrogena had its Hydro Boost line in its own display, and the combination of concealer and moisturizing hyaluronic acid intrigued me. The stick has a moisturizing center so it glides on much easier than one would think and so far it has not melted in my purse. As a plus, using Neutrogena always makes me feel like I am making a healthy choice for my skin, as the brand is serious about products that are oil-free and won't clog pores.

Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer

For my skin, Maybelline's skin products are usually too much on the pink side. That said, I do like some illumination, so I nabbed this on sale a few months back at my trusty neighborhood Walgreens. To my surprise, this a pretty decent concealer, and yes, it does give you a little lift and adds a certain glow to skin. Dare I call it radiance?
