Sugar Land is having a good hair day. Blo Blow Dry Bar is bringing its signature blowouts to the ’burbs with its latest location. Blo Sugar Land is a self-care outpost with a simple equation for your tresses: “No cuts, no color: Just wash, blo, go.”
Franchise partner and Sugar Land owner Phincy Thomas was proud to open her doors at 4759 Sweetwater Boulevard on August 25. Her mission? To make “the beautiful women of Sugar Land even more gorgeous.” Thomas’ business joins nearly 115 other Blo locations around the world (including spots in Montrose, Post Oak, and The Woodlands), solidifying its global rank as the largest blow dry bar company.
At every crisp, white beauty counter, a hot pink hair menu waits for guests' perusal. The menu features seven styles which range from sleek locks to voluminous waves starting at $45. Hairstyles like “Pillow Talk” offer the tousled bedhead no one actually wakes up with (unless you’re Beyoncé). Braids are also on offer; “Go Fish” is a mermaid-inspired fishtail braid that Instagram stars can be found touting on repeat.
Adventurous guests can also go off book and request an up-do of their own creation. If you’re really feeling yourself, you can opt for makeup services to match your look.
Blowout-only spots are having a moment in Sugar Land, as Blo joins Drybar—the popular California-based salon chain—in opening a suburban outpost there this year. Drybar, already located in Uptown Park and River Oaks, moved next door to Sephora in First Colony earlier this year.
Blo Sugar Land is open Monday–Thursday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. If you can’t make it out to the salon, a trained Blo stylist can bring the makeover to you.
