Did you hear about the guy who cut off the left side of his body? He's all right now.

Dad Joke Tournament

When: Friday, September 13; 7–9 p.m. (sign-up starts at 5:30 p.m., must be in-person)
Where: Eureka Heights Brewing Co., 941 W 18th St.
What: If you know why the scarecrow won an award (because he was outstanding in his field), get your tuhkus over to Eureka Heights and put your lamest knee-slappers to the test. A one-on-one competition (three jokes per contestant, judged by audience applause) will advance only the daddest of all dads to the top of the pack for a winning prize package that includes beer. Even if you don't win, you'll still get to crack open a cold one with Jim and Rand. Nice!

Drag Diva Brunch: Beyoncé Edition

When: Saturday; September 14; 11 a.m. seating, noon show
Where: House of Blues, 1204 Caroline St.
What: Drag queen Beyoncés...need we say more? Divas take on the queen (fingers crossed for a life-altering "Single Ladies" routine) in this wildly popular traveling brunch series with alternating themes (come back later this month for Sex and the City). $40 gets you a seat, a meal, a drink (mimosa or Bloody, natch) and a show, darling.

Artist's Talk: Langston Hues on Modest Street Fashion

When: Saturday, September 14; 3 p.m.
Where: Museum of Fine Arts, Houston; 1001 Bissonnet
What: If you've seen the MFAH's Icons of Style exhibit, you're already familiar with Langston Hues's work: The photographer documents the street style of young, fashionable women around the world—sometimes called "Hijabistas" or "Turbanistas"—for his Modest Street Fashion project. During this free program, Hues will talk about his work with Chronicle fashion editor Joy Sewing and sign copies of his books.

Petty Cash Anniversary Party

When: Saturday, September 14; 9 p.m.–midnight
Where: Petty Cash, 1643 Westheimer
What: This Montrose thrift shop—home to a plethora of vintage sportswear, hip-hop merch, and highly covetable kicks—celebrates on year in business with a party. It's 21+, so expect drankz.

Wanderlust Market

When: Sunday, September 15; 11 a.m.–4 p.m.
Where: 2120 Ella Blvd.
What: Explore the globe, no passport required, via international foods, textiles, artisan products, and other experiences from cultures all over the world at this recurring indoor/outdoor market with unique local vendors, food trucks, and live music.
