If moving to a foreign country sounds right up your alley in 2018 (we cannot blame you), the Paris-based online publication Live and Invest Overseas has just announced its list of the 10 places to live overseas, based on the extensive travels of its publisher and writers.

While the website does lean heavily toward retirees—the Social Security Administration estimates that nearly 400,000 Americans are currently retired abroad—the list isn't built solely around retirement destinations, but takes into consideration families and folks of all ages as well.

So where are the 10 best places to live overseas in 2018?

1. Lisbon, Portugal

2. Cali, Colombia

3. Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic

4. San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, Belize

5. Saint-Chinian, France

6. Città Sant’Angelo, Italy

7. Ljubljana, Slovenia

8. Playa del Carmen, Mexico

9. Bali, Indonesia

10. Da Nang, Vietnam

According to Live and Invest Oversea's Kathleen Peddicord, Europe isn't just having an affordable moment, but is a downright "bargain" in some regions. As she recently told Forbes, now is time to "take advantage of this window of opportunity."  For the rest, Peddicord suggests that her readers should ditch the stigmas attached to some of these cities (we're looking at you, Narcos Season 3 fans), including that Cali is safe, Santo Domingo offers the "easiest and quickest residency" for expats, and that Da Nang has "everything going for it" including an "economy on fire."
