World-class talent and unique performers are rolling into town for the second annual Bayou City Burlesque & Circus Arts Festival, returning this month to Warehouse Live.

The show—combining two timeless and scintillating performance arts—is the brainchild of Kiki Maroon, native Houstonian and internationally award-winning burlesque performer, radio personality and festival producer.

"Houston is growing so quickly and the entertainment is mirroring that growth," says Maroon. "In the last couple of years, our home grown talent has seen the potential audience expand by the thousands. It’s motivated us to develop just as quickly and give our city one-of-a-kind, world class shows on par with anything they’d find in Vegas or New York.”

The BCBC Festival has developed a reputation for featuring top-notch talent thanks to Maroon and her team, who've booked more than 40 local and national acts. From burlesque beauties to death defying aerialists, guests can expect a two-night showcase of quality entertainment. The Lone Star Bizarre: Texas Talent Showcase kicks off festivities on Friday, Jan. 22 and continues with The Circ-Burlesque Extravaganza: A World Wide, World Class Showcase on Saturday, Jan. 23.

Rounding up the group of BCBC festival performers is an impressive list of talent including Leggy Lass Greenleaf, a contortionist burlesque dancer from Los Angeles, who has most notably been featured on NBC's The Playboy Club and in the San Diego Ballet; Matt Fringe, the reigning King of Burlesque in Tucson, Arizona, crowned by the Burlesque Hall of Fame in Las Vegas; Tansy and Her Ferocious Lion, the acrobatic duo from New York featured in The Movers, Shakers and Innovators Showcase at the Burlesque Hall of Fame; and Smolderin' Scully & Miss Malacious, the sexy trapeze duo from Dallas.

"I’ve spent the last year traveling the world to find these performers," Maroon boasts of the eclectic group. "I love Houston. This city has supported every crazy, sexy idea I've had. This festival is my gift to the city. And I give the best gifts."

January 22 & 23. $20–75. Warehouse Live, 813 St. Emanuel St. 713-225-5483.
