MEGAN THEE STALLION isn't stopping anytime soon. The female emcee received multiple Grammy Awards back in March and recently dropped her latest single 'Thot Sh*t' this past June after a brief hiatus. Last week we reported that she was rumored to be on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, and it looks like that rumor has come to fruition.
This morning, the self-proclaimed "Hot Girl Coach" shared her swimsuit cover for the magazine. In the IG post, she exclaimed that making the cover is a "dream come true" and graciously thanked all the strong women in her life who inspire her to love her body and of course, live her best "hot girl life."
Thee Stallion is joined by two other women for the other covers of the magazine — tennis champion Naomi Osaka and model Leyna Bloom. According to Sports Illustrated's website, the three women were photographed separately in "locations across the U.S. from Florida to California." Thee Stallion makes the first female rapper and second-ever recording artist to grace the cover of the magazine, as Houston native Beyoncé Knowles was the first, in 2007, as per XXL.
"Megan Thee Stallion doesn’t stay in one lane. In fact, she encourages everyone to be in multiple, and this is what we love about her. She captured the world’s attention with her music and style, but what caught our attention was her unfiltered approach to the way she makes you think," says Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Editor-in-Chief MJ Day. "She uses her platform to push boundaries, dissect societal norms and encourage humans to think about the backward way our society continues to operate. Megan is a vessel for change, and we are honored to have her on our 2021 cover."
The new issue of the magazine is available on newsstands today.
