What a time to be alive if you're a beer drinker in Houston. There are a glut of releases this week, from the haziest of hazy IPAs to old-fashioned Helles lagers. Plot your weekend accordingly.

News & Events

Karbach Brewing is throwing its spring break concert Light Circus at 6 p.m. March 16 at the brewery. Ghostland Observatory is headlining, and Neon Indian will play a DJ set. Tickets are $30.

Bearded Fox is hosting Beards, Bourbon, and Brews from 2-10 p.m. Saturday at Pitch 45. The event features the release of Barrel Aged No. 48 Pecan Coffee Porter. It's free to attend.

Have mercy: Great Heights will be hosting a '90s Trivia Night as part of its Pints & Pies series. Maximum eight people per team. The winner will receive a $50 taproom gift card and a Flying Saucer pie. It's at 7 p.m. March 7.

If you're more a 2000s person, Eureka Heights is hosting Parks and Recreation trivia at 7 p.m. March 7

Bakfish released a new beer on Thursday. Helles is, well, a Helles lager at 4.5 percent ABV. Limited amount available of this small batch.

Friday is release day at No Label, as it brings back Gilley's Texas Blonde Ale starting at 3 p.m. Meanwhile, get ready for cans of Passion For Humanity, a Berliner weisse. Should be in stores next week.

The Daisy Chain beers are beginning to appear. Buffalo Bayou's contribution is Hoppy Copper, a fusion of West Coast Cascade hops and East Coast Simcoe hops. It's at 7 percent ABV and is available now in the taproom.

It's finally time: Saint Arnold is releasing Bishop's Barrel 23 on Monday. The series—showcasing barrel-aged beers, naturally—debuted in 2012.

Platypus has a new one out right now: Sourpuss. The 4.6 percent ABV beer is a Berliner weisse style beer with pineapple.

Spindletap is offering cans of Juiceton and Haze Invaders, a new double IPA at 8.5 percent ABV with Cascade, Centennial, CTZ, and Citra hops. Limited amount available at 10 a.m. Saturday. First-come, first-serve.

After grabbing your cans at Spindletap, head to B-52 for its big release: Boysenberry Muse. Bottles (500ml, 1.5 liter magnums and one 12 liter) are available starting at 1 p.m. Saturday. The line forms at noon. The brewery is hinting at other surprises over the weekend, too.

Holler is jumping back into the NEIPA game with 2 Hops This Time IPA. The 6.6 percent ABV beer looks juicy, and is brewed with Vic Secret and Idaho 7 hops. Take it back now, y'all. Out now.

Sigma has a big beer coming out today. Black Drizzle, a Mexican chocolate barrel-aged stout, clocks in at more than 12 percent ABV. Also today, four-packs of hazy DIPA Dick Jones will be available.

There are a ton of new canned beers available at Ingenious; check out the list here (availability may vary).

It's a while out, but Brash will be giving us Nice Things, a 10 percent ABV double IPA, on April 20.
