Beer News: Anniversary Weekend for 3 Local Breweries
This weekend three breweries will celebrate anniversaries, and each will release at least one ale to mark the honor. Also, two local taprooms are opening back up for the public. It'll be a good weekend to enjoy a brewski outside.

Eureka Heights is back. The taproom opens today (4 p.m.) with regulations enforced; among them: masks at all times unless seated, eight people per table maximum, and beer served in plastic cups to be recycled. The drive-thru is still open for those wanting to simply pick up beer.
11 Below is back as well. Its taproom opened Thursday and will also be open Friday and Saturday. Masks are required and can be removed when you're seated. The brewery will still run a drive-thru operation.
Urban South's home base brewery in New Orleans announced Thursday a rebranding with new packaging and a new logo, although the latter might look familiar to Houstonians. The new logo, created by TILT out of Baton Rouge, is the one that's been in use at Urban South HTX at Sawyer Yards, but the packaging is a bit different (the NOLA brewery has standard 12-ounce cans for its core beers while HTX prefers 16-ouncers and specializes in experimental fare).
Beer Releases
Happy four-year anniversary to City Acre Brewing Co., which is celebrating by releasing a quadruple called Quat / Quat / Quad. It comes in at 8-percent ABV and is brewed with loquats and kumquats. It's available this weekend at the brewery.
Happy three-year anniversary to Baileson Brewing Co., which is celebrating by releasing a tripel called Tripel Anniversary. It's dry-hopped with Amarillo and Citra, and it is a perfect-to-style 9-percent ABV. Get it this weekend at the brewery.
Texas Leaguer is also celebrating its three-year anniversary with the release of multiple bourbon-barrel-aged beers and a New England-style double IPA. The event is Saturday and will include the appearance of a food truck.
Urban South HTX has made a festbier called Virtual Prost. This 4.9-percent ABV lager includes Vienna and Munich malts. They also made Electric Zebra TIPA, or triple IPA, coming in at a righteous 12-percent ABV. It was made with Citra and Motueka hops.
You can celebrate the reopening of Eureka Heights's taproom by drinking its newest beer, Bidi Bidi Bombón, a Mexican lager brewed with chocolate and sea salt.
Astral Brewing now has cans available of Cosmic Sound (a New England-style IPA with Mosaic and French Barbe Rouge hops), Nebulous (a pale ale with Cashmere hops), and Hyperborea (a New England-style IPA with Motueka, Taiheke, and CTZ hops).
B-52 Brewing has four new beers out today: Peach and Blackberry Crumble Smoothie Tart; Pomegranate, Raspberry, Sage and Lactose Fruit Tart; Shaka (a West Coast-style double IPA); and Laurel (a New England double IPA).
