The cooler and more palatable weather means it's a great time to visit a local taproom. To help you get out there, plenty of breweries are releasing beers this week. Drink up!

News & Events

B-52 is celebrating Oktoberfest starting at 1 p.m. Saturday. Hear a brass ensemble, hoist some steins (2 p.m.), engage in the barrel roll (4 p.m.), and compete in the best-dressed contest (6 p.m.).

Beer Releases

At 3 p.m. today, No Label is celebrating Memorial Day as part of its ongoing series in which it marks holidays and celebration days that didn't get enough love earlier in the Covid-19 pandemic. As part of the fun, the brewery is releasing Cali Boy, a West Coast IPA. On Saturday a new batch of Hop Solo pale ale hits the taps.

Platypus is hosting its first bottle-release event on Saturday. Get a bourbon-barrel-aged imperial stout, along with food and drink specials and deals on to-go beer.

Baa Baa Brewhouse is releasing a bunch of beers for drive-thru between noon and 4 p.m. Saturday. The beers include Candy Baa and Lamb in a Jam (both fruit sours), and Eenie, Meenie, Miny, and Mo. (Those last four are all New England IPAs). Order here.

Saint Arnold has a limited-release beer called Sour Session IPA, a 4.5-percent Berliner weisse that's dry-hopped with Citra and Mosaic. It's available only at the Beer Garden & Restaurant.

Baileson is continuing its third-birthday celebration with a release of Ryemageddon Barrel-aged Healer, an imperial stout aged in Ryemageddon Rye whiskey barrels from Corsair Distillery in Nashville.

At Eureka Heights get two new, very fresh beers. First there's Dice in the Mirror, a 6.5-percent IPA made with Strata and dry-hopped with Citra and Enigma. Also new is Might as Well Kick It, an IPA at 6.5-percent ABV with lots of Strata and some Hallertau Blanc. Both are available at the taproom and the drive-thru.

Ingenious has a new fruit freezer called Fruit Madness Mad Pumpkin. This 9-percent ABV beverage is a frozen imperial sour ale smoothie with pumpkin pie filling, marshmallows, and "fall spices."

Southern Yankee's newest is Best Wiener Vienna Lager, a 5.3-percent ABV beer with plenty of malty deliciousness.

The very popular Saharan Dust is back at Sigma. The IPA at 6.2-percent ABV is available in cans and on draft at the brewery.
