It's an incredibly awesome feeling that our doors are open again. We have some delicious bites by @yong_htx, including Korean-style wings and specialty dogs, along with quite a few tasty brews. The Great American Beer Festival is arguably the most prestigious beer awards ceremony in America. Each year producers send the fest a bunch of beers to judge in a number of categories; the competition is fierce, but this year Houston got a few prizes.
Four Houston-area breweries won medals at the 2020 festival, this year held virtually on October 16 and 17 and based in Denver. The winners are:
- Extra Special Bitter: Wicket Awesome – Eureka Heights Brew Co.
- Oatmeal Stout: Settlers' Oatmeal Stout – Vallensons' Brewing Co.
- Historical Beer: Fr. Bernard's Grodziskie – New Magnolia Brewing Co.
- Wood- and Barrel-Aged Strong Beer: Freedom 7 – True Anomaly Brewing Co.

You might have seen those Saint Arnold "Choose Beer" campaign yard signs around town. Now you can get one for $10 at Saint Arnold Beer Garden & Restaurant and throw your neighbors for a loop. Just go through the drive-thru lane and ask for yours.
What goes on at 8th Wonder? Well, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, the brewery's beer garden will be hosting a free visual and musical Beatles show incorporating David Adickes's mammoth Fab Four statues.
Sigma is hosting its fourth anniversary celebration on October 30, and this time it's a to-go party. Pre-order here and you can get brews like Burial In Space, aged in Yellow Rose Outlaw bourbon and rye whiskey barrels then conditioned on coffee; two versions of Mutatis Mutandis, one being a barrel-aged coffee stout and porter blend and the other being a barrel-aged, biscotti-flavored stout and porter blend; Entropic IPA; and Eggs Erroneous, a New England-style double IPA.
Spindletap is hosting a virtual beer tasting at 7 p.m. October 29. Pre-order, and pay $10 to get a four-pack of beers and pint glass for the tasting. Gift cards will be won at the event.

Now in stores: No Label The Floor is Java, a 6.3-percent ABV coffee stout.
Spindletap is unleashing Bull Rush double IPA, a Texans-inspired beer, starting at 11 a.m. today. The 8-percent ABV beer is made with Mosaic, Wai-iti, and Vic Secret hops.
At Saloon Door, get Pumpkin Spice Nitro Milk Stout. The beer came out Thursday.
On Wednesday, Southern Yankee put out Honey Boo Boo, a 6.4-percent ABV honey hibiscus saison with raspberries and blackberries, and Raspberry Lemonade Sour Slush, a 3.6-percent ABV slushie with raspberry puree and lemonade.
Texas Leaguer's newest addition to the PEDs lineup is a Mosaic and Citra beer now available at the Missouri City taproom.
Bakfish in Pearland has released Mas Lucha, a Mexican amber lager available in four-pack and on draft at its taproom.
