Beer Releases

It's that time of year: Betty White's birthday. The actress will turn 99 on Sunday, and as it does every year, Eureka Heights is celebrating with a beer to honor her. This year (on Sunday) it's the return of Rose Nylund, a 6.8-percent ABV white IPA with rose hips. But wait ... Eureka Heights also just released Local Rob, a 5.3-percent ABV Dunkel; and Hot Superintendent, a 7.3-percent ABV pineapple-jalapeño IPA. All should be available at the Heights taproom.

Urban South has a bunch of releases at its Sawyer Yards taproom: a Triple Spilled version with orange slices, orange, and pineapple; Chocolate Layers, an imperial stout with dark and milk chocolate; and The Escape, a piña colada double IPA with Sabro and Citra. Drink this if you like gettin caught in the rain.

From True Anomaly get Mae, a fruited sour of tart cherries, sweet cherries, and blackberries. It's 5.7-percent ABV and available in the EaDo taproom and at select beer stores.

New at Buffalo Bayou: Houston Smoke & Figs, a 6.6-percent ABV beer only available at its Sawyer Yards brewery, restaurant, and taproom.

Today is release day at Brash Brewing Co. for Baddest Motherfucker, a high ABV stout.

Today is also release day at Spindletap, which is giving us a return of Candy Green DIPA, an 8-percent ABV double IPA with Wai-iti, Denali, and Vic Secret hops, and a new batch of Diamonds In My Mouth, which is brewed with Citra, Galaxy, and Mosaic hops and is 8-percent ABV. They're available in cans.

Meanwhile at No Label, get an 8.3-percent ABV Weizenbock with a name to be announced, starting today. It'll be available at the Katy taproom

On Wednesday, Ingenious released a new batch of HopWing DIPA, an 8.3-percent New England oat cream IPA; plus another batch of the stout Apple Brandy Jacks, and more cans of the New England IPA Special Drop. You may still be able to get some of these at the Humble taproom.

Saturday is release day for B-52's Brandy For Breakfast, a barrel-aged stout. You'll have to head up to its Conroe taproom to try it.

Vallensons' is releasing two beers this weekend. First, dropping today, is a dry-hopped Belgian golden strong ale at 10.5-percent ABV. On Saturday get a dry-hopped sour at 7-percent ABV. All available in Pearland.

New Magnolia brewed up a farmhouse ale called Le Bouc Saison. It's 5.4-percent ABV and available at the taproom in the Heights.

Saloon Door in Webster now has Maple Peanut Butter Nitro Milk Stout available. Yes, you heard right

Bakfish in Pearland has a new one called Fishface Blackberry Pastry Sour. It's pink, and it's available in limited quantities.

Equal Parts brought back Start the Reactor—a New England IPA—and it also started selling a new line called Fuzzy. This line emphasizes oat cream IPAs, and the first out there is hopped with El Dorado and Cascade. It's available through Equal Parts' online store and at its beer window.
