Beer News: It's Imperial Stout Time in Houston
OK, it's been a little colder lately (temperatures in the high 50s!), and to our lips that's exactly the right kind of weather for a comforting and rich stout. A bunch of breweries are releasing some decadent stouts this week, from peanut butter and chocolate concoctions to a cocoa ode to Ricky Martin. Here's what's out there to discover:

Bakfish is hosting Chili Fest at 1 p.m. Sunday at its Pearland brewery and taproom. This fundraiser for the Pearland Professional Firefighters Association will showcase 20 teams battling it out for the top bowl of chili. Pre-sale tickets are $5 and will get you a chance to sample everyone's chili.

Beer Releases
It's in limited supply, but you may be able to get Mississippi Mud Pie, a 10-percent ABV imperial milk stout conditioned on chocolate, espresso beans, vanilla beans, chocolate graham crackers, and pecans, at Ingenious. It's available on draft at the Humble brewery and taproom.
Last week Astral released Cosmic Coconut, an 8.4-percent coconut vanilla stout. It's available in cans and on tap.
No Label on Saturday is giving us Peanut Butter Chocolate Time, a 10-percent imperial oatmeal stout with cacao nibs from Ghana and peanut butter. It'll only be available on draft at the Katy taproom.
Eureka Heights heads back to the '90s for its new beer, La Vida Mocha, a 6.1-percent ABV chocolate milk stout brewed with espresso beans. It's available in four packs at the Heights taproom.
Great Heights releases In-House IPA No. 10 on Friday. It's a 6.5-percent ABV beer, with hops like Sabro, Motueka, and Galaxy. Get it at the Garden Oaks taproom.
Platypus's newest is Bal-Drick Baltic Porter, a 7.6-perecnt Baltic porter. It's available right now at the Platypus taproom.
The newest at Urban South HTX is a peach-flavored Holy Roller IPA. Also, get Your Lights On, a double IPA with Mackinac, Galaxy, Vic Secret, and Citra hops. Both are available now at the Sawyer Yards taproom.
Buffalo Bayou keeps bringing out beers for its nine-year celebration. Today it's Stone Cold Peach Awesome, a peach-infused riff on its Belgian quadrupel Figaro. Want one? Give me a "hell, yeah!" and head to the Sawyer Yards brewery, restaurant, and taproom.
Texas Leaguer has a double-dry-hopped (on Mosaic) beer called 2 Hopper ready to go. It falls in at 6.4-percent ABV and is available at the Missouri City taproom.
