A couple Houston-area breweries are celebrating birthdays this weekend, so there are a lot of new beers out there to enjoy. See what's brewing by reading our beer news below.

B-52's Barrel Fest starts at noon Saturday at the Conroe brewery. Several dozen barrel-aged beers are being opened for the occasion, and guests can either go à la carte ($15) and pay $5 for each sample or get a full pass ($40) and get 10 pours off the top. Back Pew is celebrating its five-year anniversary Saturday by releasing Rand. This Belgian golden strong ale is coming in at 9-percent ABV, after being fermented in American oak barrels. Pre-order yours here.

Speaking of anniversaries, 11 Below is turning 6 and celebrating at noon Saturday. A new vintage of barrel-aged imperial stout Big Mistake will be released. Not many tables are available, but you can still get VIP access here. Also, you can drive through and pick up beers.

You can become a member of Vallensons' new lifetime mug club. For $1,000 you'll get a 20-ounce personalized pewter mug, one free fill per visit (one visit per day), four ounces of every other pour for free, a private party before Vallensons' new taproom opens, and your name on a wall in the taproom.

DL Double IPA from Whole Foods Market Brewing Co.

Beer Releases

Whole Foods Market Brewing Company at the Post Oak Whole Foods is now canning beers that are available at all Whole Foods stores in Texas. For now, DL Double IPA can be found throughout the Lone Star State, while Wholistic Hazy and Post Oak Pale Ale will roll out later in the year. You can find all three beers, however, at the Post Oak Whole Foods at 1700 Post Oak Blvd, #100.

Urban South HTX collaborated with its home base Urban South in New Orleans on the fittingly named Triple I-10. The triple IPA is dry hopped with a ton of Citra (more than seven pounds per barrel) and is available now at the Sawyer Yards brewery.

New Magnolia gives us Ruby Ann this week. This 7.5-percent ABV oak-aged sour red ale is conditioned on blackberry and blueberry puree, then finished in oak. Get it now at the Heights brewery.

On Wednesday, Ingenious dropped the new Joy Joy, an 8.3-percent ABV milk stout conditioned on almonds and coconut flakes. You know what this tastes like. If you're lucky you may be able to score some in cans.

Holler had a little fun on April Fool's Day, unveiling a beer called Foux du Fafa. It's a French pilsner, or so we're told, that has a bready flavor. It's available now at the brewery.

The newest experimental beer at Eureka Heights is Empirical Evidence, a 4.5-percent ABV cream ale with some dry hopping. Go to the brewery to check it out or buy a four-pack.

Klaus just released Ein Kleiner, a 3.8-percent ABV little beer with a strong malt profile. Get it at the brewery and beer garden.
