Rejoice! There are brewery crawfish boils this weekend in honor of Saturday's National Crawfish Day. Go to New Magnolia starting at noon for a boil. At Spindletap, the fun starts at 12:30 p.m., courtesy of Texzas.Houston

Urban South HTX at Sawyer Yards has launched One-Off Wednesdays, an opportunity to unveil innovative beers that are under research and development. For example, the latest One-Off Wednesday produced a triple IPA with blackberry, blueberry, vanilla, and coconut. 

Beer Releases

On Monday, Saint Arnold will release—through a collaboration with Catalina Coffee and chocolatier Xocolla—Russian Imperial Stout Aged in Bourbon Barrels with Vanilla, Cocoa Nibs, and Coffee. This 11.5-percent ABV monster will be available at retailers and the Beer Garden & Restaurant.

Dual releases at Eureka Heights. There's Double Hockey Sticks, a hellishly crisp Helles lager, and Cause + Effect, a 4.5-percent ABV pale ale with experimental hop HBC 520. Try both now by picking them up at the Heights brewery and taproom.

8th Wonder has released a brewery-only beer called Dungeon Drop Black IPA. Here, 2 Row and Carafa malts mix with Simcoe and Amarillo hops. The 6.5-percent ABV beer is available for $10 per six pack at 8th Wonder in East Downtown.

Dig a new kettle sour called Tropical Beats at Astral Brewing. This has mango, pineapple, and lime, and it comes in at 5.4-percent ABV. Get it now at the brewery.

Saloon Door is canning its hazy IPA Doc Hoppiday, and six packs will be available starting Thursday at the Webster brewery. Store sales will begin on April 26.

Buffalo Bayou introduced a winter warmer called Coconut Molé this week. This 8.1-percent ABV beer has sweet coconut puree and ancho chiles. Get it now at the Sawyer Yards brewery and taproom.

At Southern Yankee get Hop Rambler, a 9.7-percent IPA with Idaho 7 and Mosaic hops. That's a big one and is available at the brewery now.
